QUEENSLANDERS’ average annual power bill will increase by $191.The Queensland Competition Authority has released its recommended price rises for the next financial year.
Typical residential customers would face a price increase of 13.6 per cent.
Small businesses will pay about 12 per cent more, with annual bills coming in $220 higher.
The QCA also modelled what consumers would pay with and without the carbon tax.
Removing the tax will cut foreshadowed price increases by $120.
Farmers could face a hike of tens of thousands of dollars in their power bills after the QCA ruled for a 15 per cent jump for most producers.
