The Aircon Off DC12 is compatible with most but not all air conditioners that can be operated by an infra red remote control.

The Aircon Off DC12 will scan the room for occupancy using Passive Infra Red (PIR) technology. As the sensor will only detect body heat it will not therefore be affected by items such as ceiling fans, or curtains. . When no occupancy has been detected, after a preset time delay (either 15, 30 or 45 minutes), a signal will be transmitted to the AC to switch it off. Aircon Off copies and uses the "Off" signal from the AC remote to communicate with the AC, thus ensuring that the AC always shuts down correctly. On re-entering the room, if air conditioning is required, the occupant simply turns the air conditioner back on using the normal remote control.

The battery powered DC12 does not need to be connected to mains power and so does not require an electrician or air conditioning technician for installation. Batteries are designed to last 3-4 years. The DC12 has a low battery inicator to remind that when batteries need changing.

Built in safeguards and night settings for undisturbed sleep ensure maximum energy savings with no complaints.

Under normal operating conditions using high quality alkaline batteries, the battery life should exceed 3 years. The unit has a low battery warning light to remind you to change the batteries. 

Function Controls & Settings
TIMER
After the occupant has left the room, Aircon Off will continue to scan the room for a pre-set time - 15.30 or 60 mins before sending the signal to turn off the Air Conditioner.
LEARN/TEST
Once Aircon Off has copied the infra red (R) signal from the AC remote controller, by pressing the 'test' button, you can test the unit to ensure the IR signal has been copied correctly.

Do to advanced multiple transmitters, the DC12 can be mounted in many configurations to ensure the best possible performance with your Air Conditioner..

DAY/NIGHT SETTINGS
24/7 - Aircon Off will turn off the AC if the room is left empty regardless of day or night
COMFORT PLUS - when it is dark, Aircon Off will allow the AC to continue operating for 2 hours after the last movement was detected, after which time Aircon off will switch off the AC.
NIGHT SETTING - During hours of darkness Aircon Off will not switch the AC off even if the occupancts are still and no movement is detected. (No accidental switch off's with sleeping occupants).

In order to operate the function buttons, it is necessary to first enter a secure access code.

If your Air Conditioner is not compatible with the DC12 battery powered sensor controller you should install the A14 mains powered unit. 

The Aircon Off AC14 is universally compatible with any air conditioner that can be operated by an Infra Red remote control. 

All Aircon Off products are passive (meaning they have no negative impact on the air conditioning and do not interfere with any warranty) and are designed to be easily installed to both new or existing split system air conditioing units that operate by hand held remote control.
