New York City to spend $28.75M to install air conditioning in all public
school classrooms
The city will spend a cool $28.75 million to install air conditioning in all
city classrooms by 2022, Mayor de Blasio said on Tuesday.
Educators, families and officials have long called for a fix — and in March
advocates for air con rallied on the steps of City Hall.
Now, City classrooms will be cooling down, starting with 2,000 classrooms
that will be getting new air-conditioning service this summer.
