Minister responds to claims of doubling electricity prices

4BC Drive spoke to Jonathon Pavetto from the Alliance of Electricity Consumers who delivered bad news for electricity customers
"The Australian Energy Regulator will make a decision on Ergon and Energex revenue proposals for the next 5 years on the 30th of October this year."

Today the Minister for Energy Mark Bailey says Pavetto's comments were wildly inaccurate and irresponsible.
"I know there's a lot of people out there who really struggle to pay their bills after the power price surges in the last few years, I've met many of them."
"I think it's really irresponsible to be scaring those people because there is simply not going to be a doubling of power prices in the next 5 years."
"What we will see is a continued stabilisation of prices over the next 4 years."
