A NEW Townsville start-up company will give away trees and shrubs to offset its carbon footprint.
Hoops Consulting, a public relations company, will give away free native, drought-tolerant seedlings to locals and not-for-profit groups.
The seedlings have been sourced from the Conservation Volunteers Australia community nursery at Rowes Bay.
Hoops Consulting founder Sharon Hoops said she wanted her company to be sustainable from the get-go.
“Rather than just pay money to offset carbon, we wanted to do something that benefited our Townsville community directly and provide a boost to a great local organisation in Conservation Volunteers Australia,” she said.
