Air-conditioning making it easier for students to learn

AIRCONDITIONING isn't an optional extra for students at Branxton Public School in the Hunter Valley - it's vital for their education.
That is the belief of P&C president Kerrie Fry, who has spent years raising funds to ensure students do not suffer in summer.
Branxton Public School is one of hundreds in regional NSW located in a "hot zone", where average January temperatures soar above 30C.
All of the school's classrooms are airconditioned, but it's thanks only to the dedication of parents and the P&C, not the state government.
Years of sausage sizzles, raffles, trivia nights and other activities helped raise funds for airconditioning after the government would not pay for it.
