Air-con tops list for home buyers

According to Australian Bureau of Statistics data, three in four Australian households have air-con.
Forget the swimming pool, an overwhelming majority of Australians have air conditioning at the top of their home buying wish lists.
In a survey of more than 1000 people for comparison website finder.com.au, 65 per cent said air-con was the most desirable property feature, followed closely by a carport or garage.
Rounding out the top five were a backyard, solar panels and an outdoor entertaining area.
finder.com.au's Bessie Hassan says the greater the demand for a particular feature, the more value it will add to a property.
"Australians have become more accustomed to air conditioning and plenty of people now see it as vital," Ms Hassan says.
