AEMO warns of power blackouts in Victoria and South Australia this summer

The unreliability of coal-fired power generation could lead to blackouts in Victoria and South Australia, the Australian Energy Market Operator warns. In a report to be released today, the AEMO says it will be forced to seek emergency reserves to manage the power system during peak season to reduce the risk of power shortages.
